First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression
Since it is an online internship, I have not visited the office. But the work environment is professional, cordial and punctual. The HR held a meeting and initiated pleasant introductions to senior associates and fellow interns. We were in regular touch with the senior associate allotted to us who delegated tasks, guided us and proofread our work.
Main Tasks
I was asked to read and review documents, prepare briefs and research incoming cases filed in the Supreme Court. I was exposed to a wide spectrum of issues which were spearheaded by different teams namely finance, banking and corporate disputes.
Work Environment
The associates want to get work done at the earliest. They are very punctual and strict about deadlines. One gets to do a lot of good work and learn so much more. So, I feel that it is worth it and it prepares you to work with tight schedules and tough work at hand.
Good things
There are accessible associates on board who make us all feel comfortable. They are quite patient as well and provide regular feedback on the work delivered and explain where to improve drafting or research areas.
Bad things
The work schedule is hectic, whether online or offline and there is more work offline. There are frequent meetings that everyone is supposed to attend and be on time. Even though dedicated, some associates are pressurizing at times. My senior associate asked me to skip lunch because she wanted to get her work done as soon as she could. So at times, it can be challenging to navigate through.
Stipend
The stipend amount has not been confirmed to me as of now by my senior associate, but it would be somewhere around 5,000-6,000.
