First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression
On the first day, we had an introductory session in which they explained tasks, rules, policies, and do’s and don’ts. We got a mentor to help and guide us throughout the internship, the whole team was very supportive and humble.
Main Tasks
Initially, we were given a general task to make up our minds. Gradually they increased the level from easy to hard and assigned us legal tasks like research, case briefs etc.
In the first week we did a case brief on High court cases, they provided us with the source from where we had to do case briefing, we did go through many landmark and historical cases we got to understand how to frame issues, the ratio of the cases, observation and then conclusion based on reasoning.
This task helped us to think like prudent people. In the second week, we had to do research on anticipatory bail in non-cognizable offences, this task helped us to understand the concept of anticipatory bail,non-cognizable offences and cases related to that.
In the third week, they assigned us cases we had to go through the case and write the judgement. In the fourth week, we got the chance to attend the supreme court hearing and we had to summarise the hearing.
Work Environment & Good Things
Research that used to be a cumbersome task is no longer the same. Somewhere I became focused on research work, and now I can link the case, its effect, ratio and its decision. During such a short span I learnt a lot of things. All in all, it was an enriching and invaluable experience. I am grateful to Pradeep Sir for giving me such a wonderful opportunity.
