How did you Apply?
I applied for the internship by writing a mail to the email id mentioned on the website of the LLP. If your application gets selected, there will be a phone interview before accepting you as an Intern.
Main Tasks
I was given the following assignments:
- Filing and drafting trademark applications and replies to objections and oppositions;
- Incorporating Company under Companies Act, 2013;
- Software License & Sale and other commercial agreements;
- Demerger research;
- Drafting Terms of Use and Privacy Policies for different companies’ platforms and apps.
Above mentioned are some of the many tasks which I was assigned by the firm, which were intellectually challenging, fun to work on, and helped me expand my horizon.
Work Environment
Honestly, working at this firm came with many perks, the working culture here was great, as the people here were pretty helpful, and professional, knew what they are doing, and whatever doubt you bring to them, they made sure that they try to make you understand the concept first and then clear out the doubt.
Besides the working culture, every individual was fun to be around, on my first day none of them made me feel like it was my first day.
Good things
If anyone inclines towards corporate law, taxation law, IP Laws etc., this firm will give you a vast experience, by trusting you on the assignments, it is not like you will just get research assignments, besides research, you will be introduced to the procedure behind whatever law you will read in regards to the practising areas of the firm.
The managing partner will personally solve your doubts and will guide you on any mistakes in a calm manner. By working with this firm, one will gain confidence as a lawyer. The assignments here would be challenging, which will in the end makes you a good lawyer.
Bad things
I did not experience any bad things while working with the firm.
Stipend
The firm will not provide you with the stipend if you have joined just for a month, once you get permitted to extend your internship tenure, and if the firm starts liking your work, you will get paid, and the amount would be solely at the discretion of the firm.
