DPIIT-IPR Chair, Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, MNLU Nagpur is organizing an online internship for the month of September.

About MNLU, Nagpur

Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, was established by the Government of Maharashtra by way of an enactment known as the Maharashtra National Law University Act (Maharashtra Act No. VI of 2014). The University is the nineteenth National Law University in India.

The University is a residential University engaged in promoting quality legal education and conducting cutting-edge research on thriving issues of law, social science, and humanities. The University is presently offering B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Degree Course; LL.M. One-Year Postgraduate Degree Course; Ph.D. interface with law.

About DPIIT IPR Chair

The Scheme for Pedagogy & Research in IPRs for Holistic Education & Academia (SPRIHA) was launched in the year 2016 by the Department for Promotion of Industries and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The IPR Chair was established under the scheme at selected Universities in India and MNLU, Nagpur takes pride in being one for them.

The chair was established to fulfill one of the objectives of the National IPR Policy of the Government of India which was to ‘Strengthen IP Chairs in educational institutes of higher learning to provide quality teaching and research, develop teaching capacity and curricula and evaluate their work on performance-based criteria’.

About the Position

Once the applicant is selected, the intern would be asked to undertake tasks that shall involve assisting in research on topics related to Intellectual Property Rights. The interns are expected to facilitate and coordinate the programs conducted by the IPR Chair. Interns may be asked to share the research work assigned to them in the form of papers, presentations, or reports. The internship shall be online and the interns will have to work from home.

Duration

Internships shall be provided for a period of one (1) month. Applications are open for the month of September 2023.

Eligibility

The internship is open to students enrolled in 3rd, 4th, and 5th year undergraduate and postgraduate programs in law from a recognized University.

The applicants must communicate their interest in the internship via email to – iprchair@nlunagpur.ac.in along with their CV. The subject of the email must be ‘Internship with IPR Chair’.

Along with the CV, the applicant must also submit a statement of purpose (of not more than 500 words) explaining their interest in interning with the Chair.

Submission of Reports

Interns must submit a final report to the Supervisor at the end of the internship period containing the work done by the intern during the internship period for the processing of the Certificate.
