Madras High Court Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari appointed SAFEMA Appellate Tribunal chief

According to a press communique issued this evening by the Union Minister of Finance, Department of Revenue, CJ Bhandari has been appointed to the SAFEMA Tribunal for a term of four years.

He will be drawing a monthly remuneration of ₹2,50,000.

Earlier this week, the President of India had appointed Justice M Duraiswamy as the acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court. Justice Duraiswamy, the senior-most judge at Madras High Court after CJ Bhandari, will perform the duties of the Chief Justice with effect from September 13 following the superannuation of CJ Bhandari.
