The current CJI NV Ramana is set to demit office on August 26 and Justice UU Lalit will then take over as CJI.
He will then head the Collegium for a little over two months before he retires on November 8.
Justice DY Chandrachud will then take over as CJI.
The Collegium composition will also see substantial changes during the said period with Justices Indira Banerjee, KM Joseph, and MR Shah becoming part of the body within a span of less than two months.
