City Law College, Lucknow, is organizing the Samar Kumar Basu Memorial National Moot Court Competition in online mode from July 28-30.

About the Competition

City College of Law (Lucknow), in collaboration with Dream Law, is pleased to extend an invitation to participate in the Samar Kumar Basu National Moot Court Competition, 2023. The Moot Court Competition is scheduled to take place from July 28 to July 30, 2023, via virtual mode.

After successfully organizing our first moot court competition, 94 teams from across India participated and were judged by retired judges, senior advocates,  and professors.

The main aim of the competition is to promote commitment to experimental learning and facilitate students’ accumulation of immense knowledge. The Moot Court Competition develops coherent legal insight among students and is essential to developing practical skills.

Eligibility

Students duly enrolled and pursuing full-time 5 years or 3 years of undergraduate law courses may apply to participate in the given competition. Students enrolled in postgraduate diplomas or short-term certification courses are not eligible to apply.

Team Composition

The team composition of the given competition shall comprise two speakers or two speakers and one researcher.

Prizes

• Winner: Trophy + Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand Only) + Books + DreamLaw Certificate Course on Drafting, Pleading and Conveyancing (DPC) Offered by DreamLaw + Internship Opportunity at SKB & Associates (Kolkata) + Certificate of Award.
• Runner Up: Trophy +  Rs 13,000/- (Thirteen Thousand Only) + Books + DreamLaw Certificate Course on Drafting, Pleading, and Conveyancing + Internship Opportunity + Certificate of Award.
• 2nd Runner Up: Rs 9,000/- (Rupees Nine Thousand Only) + 50% Discount of DreamLaw Certificate Course on Drafting Pleading and Conveyancing.
• Best Speaker (Male): Rs 2,500/-(Rs Two Thousand Five Hundred Only) + Best Speaker Certificate.
• Best Speaker (Female): Rs 2,500/- (Rs Two Thousand Five Hundred Only) + Best Speaker Certificate.
• Best Memorial: Rs 3,000/- (Rupees Three Thousand Only) + Best Memorial Certificate.
• Certificate of Participation will be provided to all the Participants.

Note: A certificate of participation will only be provided if you participate in both the preliminary rounds.

How to Register?

• The last date for registration is July 10, 2023, by 11:59:59 PM. The teams must register online by July 10, 2023.
• The Registration fee is ‘Rupees 1500/- Per Team’ only. The registration shall be done by filling up the registration form (Google Form) available at the end of this post.
• Pay the registration fee via GooglePay/ PhonePc/ Paytm on UPI id: edustop@icici.

• The registration shall be considered complete only when the Registration Fee has been paid successfully and the registration codes to each team through the mail which shall be quoted by the teams for further communications with the organizing committee.
• The participants will receive an official approval mail from the organizing committee within 48 hours of their registration.
• The organizing committee shall communicate with the team leader for all the necessary communication.
• The registration fee, once paid, is non-refundable.

• Last Date for Memorial Submission: July 18, 2023.
• Clarification Session (Moot Problem and Rules): July 15-16, 2023.
• Competition Dates: July 28- 30, 2023.
