Panaji, March 15 (PTI) Police in Goa have arrested a man for allegedly setting canoes on fire at Benaulim beach, an official said on Wednesday.
Colva police on Tuesday arrested Rofilio Fernandes from Benaulim for setting afire two canoes anchored on the shore in South Goa. The incident was reported on the intervening night of February 25-26.
While an investigation is on, police said the accused has confessed to committing the crime. “Only after his interrogation, we will be able to disclose the motive behind the offence,” he said.
One Cassiano Fernandes on February 26 had complained to Colva police that someone had set fire to his two canoes parked at the Benaulim beach. PTI RPS NR NR
