Online searches for ‘long-lasting women’s perfume’ rose by 1,650% in past 6 months, finds survey

New Delhi: In the past six months, there has been a whopping 1,650 per cent rise in online searches for ‘long-lasting women’s perfumes’ globally, found a survey conducted by Tajmeeli, a website educating people on cosmetic treatments.

The study has also found that India ranks among the top 10 locations for long-lasting perfume searches. In the top three spots are United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Singapore.

The survey is based on data collected from Google Trends and Ahrefs, a digital marketing tool, till 28 June. It has found that each month (from January to June), 6,400 people searched on ‘how long does perfume last’, while 5,900 people wanted to know ‘how to make perfume last longer’.

Tajmeeli provides information to Arabs across the Middle East and worldwide on cosmetic procedures and its alternatives. It also helps people find certified and qualified cosmetic surgeons. It claims to be the largest website in Arabic language dedicated to topics on cosmetic surgery and receives over 1,000,000 visits monthly.

Ways to make perfume last longer

The survey has also found that interest for women’s perfumes peaks during the summer. Experts at Tajmeeli have answered questions to some of the online searches and explained why fragrances don’t seem to last longer in summer.

“When the sun is out and the temperature is high, the alcohol in your perfume will evaporate from your skin more quickly. As it evaporates, the fragrance goes with it, which explains why your scent may seem less prominent in the summer,” said a spokesperson from Tajmeeli.

The study also highlighted ways to make one’s perfume last longer. These include doing things such as storing perfume correctly, spraying fragrance on moisturised skin to help build up scent and more.
