Patna High Court to buy iPhone 13 Pro for all judges, issues tender

New Delhi: The Patna High Court has issued a tender inviting bids for supply of iPhone 13 Pro (256 GB) for all judges of the court.

The tender, issued Tuesday, also asks interested suppliers or authorised dealers to quote a price for the models, inclusive of GST and service charges. It has asked for “GST number, PAN, AADHAR, email and a registered mobile number clearly” in the quotation.

The notice was issued by the officer-on-special-duty on behalf of the court’s purchase cell. The high court will reserve the right to accept or reject any or all quotations, the notice stated.

“Sealed quotations are invited from the reputed firms/ authorised dealers / suppliers / service providers for supply of Apple iPhone 13 Pro (256 GB) for the Hon’ble Judges of this Court,” the tender notice read.

The bid documents will have to be submitted within a week and no advance payment shall be made. Also, payment will be made only through bank (CFMS mode), instead of cash, after submission of a duplicate bill, the notice said.

“Headquarters/ office of the firm/ shop must be located in Patna,” the court’s notice added.

The firm or supplier needs to be ready for maintenance of the iPhone as and when it is required. In addition, “defective materials should be replaced immediately by the concerned firms, free of cost, within the warranty period”.

The total sanctioned strength of the Patna High Court is 53 judges, and as of 1 June the working strength was 27. However, with the Central government recently notifying the appointments of nine more members for the bench, the working strength will soon increase to 36.

New iPhone

The high court’s notice comes at the time when the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is gearing up to unveil its iPhone 14 series. Reports suggest that the iPhone 14 series will go official sometime around the month of September.

Apple is expected to launch four new iPhone models under iPhone 14 series. These include the iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the iPhone Pro. Speculations are also rife that this year there will be no iPhone 14 Mini. However, Apple has not officially confirmed the discontinuation of its iPhone Mini series.
