Una (HP), Apr 5 (PTI) A woman was killed and two people were seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling crashed into a wall here, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Tuesday night when Rita and her husband Ramesh Chand, residents of Dehra, were headed to Chandigarh, they said.
According to preliminary investigation, the car driver, Chetan Kumar, was speeding, they added.
The car rammed into a wall near DAV School in Una town as Kumar lost control of the vehicle, the police said.
The three were rushed to the Una district hospital, where Rita was declared brought dead by doctors. Chand and Kumar are undergoing treatment, they said.
Superintendent of Police, Una, Arjit Sen Thakur said a case has been registered against the car driver under sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by endangering life or personal safety of others) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code. PTI COR BPL DIV DIV
