Counsel for the accused submitted before the Bench that his client was ready and willing to marry the victim as soon as he was released. He said that the couple had eloped to get married as they were in love.
When the victim and her father appeared in court, they said that they had no objection to the accused’s release, provided that he performs the marriage in accordance with Hindu rites.
Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the Court granted bail to the accused, subject to his appearance before the trial court, among other conditions.
