Elon Musk changes Twitter verification process, to charge $8 per month for Blue Tick

Twitter verification

Elon Musk is changing Twitter verification process. Users will be now charged with $8 for blue tick.

Twitter’s new Chief Elon Musk has announced that Twitter’s verification will be now renewed. The coveted blue tick will be available to users for the price of $8 per month. He further said that the Twitter verification charges would also be subject to a country’s “purchasing power parity”.

By paying the fees, verified users will be able to get priority in replies, mentions, and searches. He said this could prove to be essential to defeating spam/scams, give users the ability to post long video and audio, come across half as many ads.

Publishers that are willing to work with the social media company can get a paywall bypass.

Musk said that the idea behind changing Twitter’s verification process was to give Twitter a revenue stream to reward content creators.

Soon, the microblogging platform flooded with complaints from users.

After seeing the outrage, Musk changed his Twitter bio from ‘Twit chief’ to Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator.

After buying out Twitter, from Twitter verification to advertising plan, Musk has made a slew of changes in the organization. In a Tweet, he had said that “Twitter aspires to be the most respected advertising platform in the world”.

Yesterday, Musk also dismissed the entire board and became the sole director of the social media platform. He is now the micro-blogging platform’s chief executive.
