The Debating and Literary Society of Government Law College, Mumbai, has opened registrations for the 7th Policy Review Writing Competition.

About the GLC, Mumbai

The Government Law College, Mumbai, (GLC Mumbai), founded in 1855, is one of the oldest law schools in Asia. The college, affiliated with the University of Mumbai, is run by the Government of Maharashtra.

About the Competition

The Debating and Literary Society of Government Law College, Mumbai, acknowledges the importance that critical analysis plays in contemporary policy making. Policies should stand up to public review and scrutiny.

To further academic discourse on the subject of The Policy Debate, ‘Independence of Judiciary: The collegium in question?’ we bring to you “Policy Review.”

The Collegium system has been in much debate in the past few months and we would like to provide you with a chance to give your two cents on it. We also have the following sub-themes for the same:

Eligibility Criteria

All undergrad students across various fields.

Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions must be in the Word (docx. /doc) format, along with the following guidelines.
  • Font – Times New Roman, Size 12
  • Page Border – 1 inch on all sides.
  • Citation – All sources must be appropriately cited by using hyperlinks. Wherever hyperlinks are not available, endnotes can be used by conforming to the MLA citation method.
  • Plagiarism above 15% will not be condoned.
  • Submissions for Policy Review should not exceed the word limit of 1500 words (inclusive of endnotes).
  • Co-authorship of a total of two authors is permitted.
  • The submission deadline is February 22nd, 2023
  • All the teams will receive the submission link along with a team code post their successful registration
  • Participation certificates will be mailed to all the participants.
  • The editors reserve the right to ask for editing before publication.

Important Dates

  • The first three prizes will be announced at the Policy Debate on March 4, 2023, in Mumbai.
  • The registration deadline is February 15, 2023.
  • The submission deadline is February 22, 2023.
