Regional Moot Court Competition by the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling [March 25]: Register by Feb 24

Department of Law, University of North Bengal is hosting a moot court competition on March 25, 2023 and is seeking registrations for the same.

About the College

The Department of Law is prominently situated on Asian Highway 2 between Bagdogra and Siliguri in the District of Darjeeling in the main campus of University of North Bengal. The Department of Law was formerly known as the North Bengal University Law College and was established as such in the year 1974.

About the Competition

Preliminary selection of the teams shall be made on first come first serve basis. The competition has been divided into semi-final rounds and final round. Therefore, selection of the teams shall be made on the basis of marks (top four) scored in the memorials.

Rounds of the Competition

The Regional Moot Court Competition shall comprise of the following two rounds:
a. Semi-Final Rounds and
b. Final Round.

Eligibility

Students pursuing 3 years or 5 years undergraduate LL.B. degree course are eligible to participate in this competition. The students only from North Bengal and States of North Eastern region are eligible to participate in this competition.

Mode

The mode of this competition will be held offline.

Registration Details

  • Team should register provisionally by sending mail to mcs.nbu.2019@gmail.com by February 24, 2023 with the subject “Registration for Regional Moot Court Competition, 2023” through an authorised official e-mail id.
  • On receiving the mail, the participants will be notified the Team Code upon confirmation of the participation.
  • A soft copy of duly filled in Registration form shall be mailed at mcs.nbu.2019@gmail.com.
  • On reporting at the Department during the competition each team has to pay registration fee (as mentioned in the Registration fee clause) along with the hard copy of the Registration Form (the scanned copy of the Registration form has to be sent on or before February 24, 2023 via mail to mcs.nbu.2019@gmail.com as a provisional registration).
  • No change in the names of the participants shall be permitted unless the same has been communicated to the organisers a week prior to the event in exceptional circumstances only after due proof has been attached.

  • Last date of provisional registration by sending a scanned copy of the Registration Form and Travel & Accommodation form: February 24, 2023
  • Last date of Seeking Clarification: February 25, 2023
  • Date of Releasing Common Clarification: February 28, 2023
  • Date of intimation of Team Codes: March 5, 2023
  • Last Date of Sending the soft Copies of Memorials: March 7, 2023
  • Last Date on which the Hard Copies of Memorials must reach Department of Law: March 10, 2023
  • Date of Announcement of Result regarding memorials: March 15, 2023
  • Date of Competition: March 25, 2023
