5-day Capacity Building Training Program on ‘Empirical Research: Learning By Doing’ | LLS and CCV, RGNUL | June 12-16 | Guaranteed Internships with CCV, RGNUL: Register Now!

Lawctopus Law School, in collaboration with Centre for Criminology and Victimology, RGNUL, Patiala, is organizing a 5-day Capacity Building Training program on ‘Empirical Research: Learning by Doing’ from June 12-June 16, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

About the Training Program

As other disciplines in social sciences develop widely accepted empirical research methodologies specific to their respective domains; research in the field of law seems to have fallen behind on this count.  The field of law and legal studies lacks not only a set of well-defined techniques for empirical analysis but also personnel trained in such techniques as well.

The difference between the ‘is’ and the ‘ought’, remains unbridged throughout much of the academic research and writings that emerge from the legal academic echelons. By shortening the gap between law in books and law in action, the introduction of empirical legal research will have far reaching implications and ramifications.

The idea behind the training program is to introduce academics, scholars, researchers, legal professionals, law and policy makers and students to the idea and method of empirical legal research.

The objectives of the training program shall be to:
