WhatsApp has added a toggle feature for sending instant video messages on Android and iOS. Curently available for beta users, the toggle can be enabled or disabled according to user preference and can be found in settings.
The platform introduced video messages back in July enabling users to send record and share short, personal videos directly in the chat. This feature is similar to voice notes with the ability to send videos of up to 60 seconds.
Some users however prefer to use voice notes over instant video messages. The new feature is meant to improve the messaging experience for users and provide them with the option to completely disable this feature, while still ensuring the ability to continue receiving video messages, as per WABetaInfo.
It is set to be visible to more users in the coming days. It has also been noted that users who have disabled the feature will still be able to receive video messages.
