Speaking at a full court farewell reference held this afternoon, Chief Justice Sharma said that being a first-generation lawyer, he owed all his successes to people who guided him from time to time.
“Justice to litigants has always been a consistent goal. Whether or not I have succeeded in that, I cannot tell and in fact, I should not. After all, we know I cannot be a judge in my own cause. But I can confidently share that judgeship has given me a sense of satisfaction. This ability to alleviate the sufferings of a litigant and to uphold their rights is a hallmark of justice. I am filled with a sense of gratitude to serve the people of this nation,” Justice Sharma added.
