5th National Moot Court Competition 2024 by Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT Kharagpur (Cash Prizes Worth INR 2 Lacs) [Offline; March 29-31]: Register by Feb 20

Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL), IIT Kharagpur is organizing the 5th National Moot Court Competition 2024 from March 29 to 31, 2024 in offline mode and accepting registrations for the same.

About RGSOIPL

Established in 2006, the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) is unique within the IIT system for its focus on technology and law. It offers an LL.B. program with an emphasis on Intellectual Property Law, and also LL.M. and Ph.D. programs in Law.

About IIT Kharagpur

About the Competition

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is renowned for its commitment to excellence in education and fostering intellectual growth. In line with this ethos, IIT Kharagpur has been organizing the National Moot Court Competition (NMCC) with great enthusiasm.

Through its rigorous and engaging format, NMCC continues to serve as a beacon of legal excellence, fostering the growth of future legal professionals in India. NMCC is an event that focuses on numerous areas of law. This brings law students an excellent opportunity to hone their advocacy skills, test their knowledge of law, and engage in constructive legal interaction and discourse.

NMCC follows a format typical of moot court competitions, where participants are required to prepare written memorials and present oral arguments. The competition includes various rounds, including preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final. A distinguished panel of judges, comprising legal experts and practitioners evaluates the performance of the participating teams.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All students currently enrolled in LL.B. or LL.M. degree programs in any recognized Law School/College/University in India, shall be eligible to participate in the Competition.
  • Each team shall comprise three (3) members, with two speakers and one researcher. No change in team composition shall be permitted after the registration made by the team.
  • Based on the response, an even number of teams will be selected by the committee and acknowledged thereupon.
  • The official language, for all purposes of the competition including all correspondents, shall be in English only.

Location

The 5th IIT Law School National Moot Court Competition 2024 shall be held from March 29-31, 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, West Bengal – 721302.

Prizes

  • The competition embraces prizes/awards worth Rs. 2 Lakhs.
  • The competition embraces the following Certificates of Merit:
    • Winner Trophy,
    • Runner up Trophy,
    • Best Memorial,
    • Best Researcher,
    • Best Speaker.
