The Court was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) petition filed by one Mukul Sharma seeking a direction to the State and Union governments to make the display boards functional in the district courts of Delhi.
Display boards in courts display real-time information related to the hearing of cases in progress in courtrooms.
The plea by Mukul Sharma stated that non-functional display boards in Delhi courts were causing inconvenience to lawyers, litigants and other court officials.
