Lok Sabha Elections: Delhi High Court rejects plea to cancel candidature of PM Narendra Modi from Varanasi

The plea was filed by Captain Deepak Kumar, a pilot, who claimed that Modi submitted false oath that he will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India.

“The Candidate for Varanasi constituency for the 2024 general elections Narender Modi had submitted before the returning officer a false oath or affirmation to bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India,” the petition said.

The plea alleged that Modi was hatching a conspiracy and was involved in an act of terrorism. He said that Modi tried to kill the petitioner by crashing a plane that he was in command of.

“Modi and his accomplices are accused of screening the criminal conspiracy where the accused accomplices Candidate Modi attempted to destabilize national security by planning a fatal crash of Flight AI 459 of 08.07.2018,” the plea said.

Kumar demanded that Modi’s false oath should be investigated in an effective and time bound manner and if the allegations are found to be true, he should be debarred from holding any public office.
