I have so many fried fish recipe in my blog. Each time i make them quite differently. This is one recipe which I made recently and loved the combination of it. 

About Tawa Fish Fry

A fish fry is a fried fish meal that is battered or breaded. French fries, coleslaw, hushpuppies, lemon slices, tartar sauce, hot sauce, malt vinegar, and dessert are usually included. Some Native American recipes call for coating the fish with semolina and egg yolk.

In many Indian kitchens, a tava or tawa is a common frying pan. The pan, also known as a tawah, thawah, or thavah, is round and ranges in diameter from 8 to 12 inches. In some professional kitchens, it can be up to a meter wide. Tawa Fish Fry is a delicious, flavoured shallow fried seafood meal made with a few basic spices and herbs and cooked on a flat pan.

Ingredients for Tawa Fish Fry

Fish (I used paarai fish)
Coconut Oil

For Marination:
Chilli Powder
Kashmiri Chilli Powder
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi
Coriander Powder 
Pepper Powder
Ginger Garlic Paste 
Garam Masala Powder 
Coriander Leaves 
Curry leaves 
Lemon Juice
Water as needed
Salt to taste

Chilli Powder  :

Chili powder is a spice blend, and recipes differ from cook to cook and company to company. Powders typically contain cayenne pepper, paprika, cumin, oregano, and garlic. It enhances the flavour and heat of recipes.

Coriander Powder :

Coriander Powder is a flavouring agent used in a variety of cuisines.  It is one of the oldest known herbs and spices. It is mentioned in the Bible, and seeds from the plant have been discovered in ruins dating back to 5000 B.C. Name is derived from the Greek word koris, which means stink bug

How to Make Tawa Fish Fry

  • Clean fish pieces, make deep slashes in it.
  • Mix all the ingredients for marination and add very little water and make it into a thick paste.
  • Apply masala all over the fish, deep into the slits and slashes.
  • Leave this to marinate for 30 mins.
  • Heat coconut oil in a pan, place fish over it. Cover it and cook on a medium low heat for 5 to 6 mins. Now flip over and cook on high heat for 5 more mins. Now the fish is done.
  • Serve with lemon wedges and onion rings.

These are the marinating ingredients

First take all of them together

Give a good squeeze of lemon juice

Now u can see, the masala is little dry

Take your fish pieces. I made deep slashes over it

A quick trick is, if you have sunlight falling in the kitchen, place it near the sunlight and let it marinate..
This is a trick from my husband

I heated few tblspn of coconut oil and placed the fish pieces over it
