Kothu Mutton Recipe with step by step pictures. This is made with Boneless Mutton, onions, spices and curry leaves. This can be served with roti, parotta and rice.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

This is one dish which i tasted recently, hubby got it from a thattukada shop here in my place and it was delicious. I tried recreating it and it worked perfect.

Try to use boneless mutton piece and you are allowed to over cook the mutton in pressure cooker. So the meat falls off the bone, so it will be easy for you to shred it.

Ingredients for Kothu Mutton

For Mutton:
  • Boneless Mutton – 500 grams
  • Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water – ½ cup
For Curry:
  • Coconut Oil – ¼ cup
  • Fennel Seeds / Saunf / Sombu – 2 tsp
  • Onion – 2 large sliced thinly
  • Green Chilli – 3 slit
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tblspn
  • Curry leaves a handful
  • Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tblspn
  • Garam Masala Powder – 1 tblspn
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
