Green Tomato Pickle Recipe with step by step pictures. this is made with Green Tomato and salt. This pickle taste amazing with rice.

Ingredients for Green Tomato Pickle

  • Green Tomato – 5 to 6 chopped finely (around 3 cups)
  • Salt – 1 to 2 tbsp or to taste
For Roasting & Grinding:
  • Mustard Seeds – 2 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli – 6 to 8
  • Fenugreek Seeds – ½ tsp
For Seasoning Oil:
  • Gingelly Oil – ¼ cup
  • Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi – ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves a small handful

How to make Green Tomato Pickle

  1. Take all roasting ingredients in a pan and toast till golden. Take it in a blender and powder finely.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida and curry leaves and mix well. Let it sizzle. Now set aside so it cools
  3. Take chopped green tomatoes in a bowl, add in the powder, salt and mix well.
  4. Now pour this over the tomatoes and mix well.
  5. Store in a clean jar for 2 days before serving.
