University School of Law and Legal Studies is organising a conference on “Resolving Disputes in the Metaverse”. The event is being supported by ‘Singapore International Arbitration Centre- SIAC’ and ‘Careers In Arbitration’.
About the University
Established in 2001, the University School of Law and Legal Studies (USLLS) has acquired the status of a distinct institution of legal education in an unparalleled setting of multidisciplinary environments. It has emerged as a premier hub of legal education in India.
To serve as an institution of advanced legal studies, USLLS is the first University Law School established in the vicinity of the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, various subordinate courts, Commissions, Tribunals, and various monitoring offices of national and international voluntary organizations. Its faculty is selected to prescribe higher qualifications than the University Grants Commission (UGC).
About the ADR Cell
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell (ADRC) is the official forum at USLLS for all matters in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution. The cell endeavours to foster and instil a vibrant culture of ADR amongst the legal fraternity through engagement with field experts, academic writing, and various events headed by the student community.
The objective of the Cell is to provide quality knowledge in the field of ADR as well as disseminate information on the cutting-edge issues surrounding the field of ADR. We’re a research-oriented centre and are constantly working on cutting-edge issues about ADR.
About the Event
With the growing popularity of virtual reality and augmented reality, there has been a paradigm shift in the way we interact with others. The Covid-19 pandemic only propelled us into this age of digital interaction and even doing business online.
The concept of metaverse has gained traction in recent times as it provides a getaway to a digital landscape wherein other concepts such as digitized currency/crypto, digital assets (e.g.,- NFT and Digital Land, and even office spaces that are virtual offices and help desks have been brought together to create a truly unique way of interacting in today’s time).
These interactions revolve around technologies like blockchain and essentially advocate for a decentralized world.
ADR Cell of USLLS, is organizing an academic conference on the topic “Resolving Disputes in the Metaverse” to initiate thought-provoking discussions and explore and analyse various aspects of disputes that may arise in the metaverse while taking a glimpse at how ADR mechanisms are feasible for such disputes and how we can harness the potential of these methods with the help of technology.
