Xebia announces partnership with EduTennis

The partnership is part of Xebia’s policy of giving back in order to build a better society after the pandemic.

Xebia, the pioneering IT consultancy company, today announced its support for EduTennis, a program that trains underprivileged children in essential life skills using the game of tennis. Xebia will support EduTennis with a series of Employee Volunteering Programs, wherein Xebia employees will offer their time, skills and mentorship to deepen the impact of the development intervention. The partnership is part of Xebia’s policy of giving back in order to build a better society after the pandemic.

“Xebia is happy to support an innovation that uses a seemingly exclusive game like tennis to further India’s development-related goals for children and young people,” said Mr. Ashok Fenn – Executive Director from Xebia. He further highlighted that “the program’s values of quality and excellence match with Xebia’s own and we are confident that our employees will be able to contribute in a meaningful way to the lives of the children EduTennis works with.”

Adding further, Mr. Jaideep Bhatia, co-founder of EduTennis and Honorary Secretary of the International Lawn Tennis Club of India said,”This program is a sports for development initiative. We have found tennis to be an effective medium to actualize the Sustainable Development Goals, especially around girls’ empowerment. With the help of Xebia, we are hoping to deepen the involvement of civil society in children’s life skills education.”

“Xebia’s support is a welcome move for an initiative such as EduTennis ,” said Agastya Dalmia, Managing Trustee of the Amba Dalmia Foundation Trust. The program, operating under the aegis of the Amba Dalmia Foundation Trust, is run for school children aged 14-17 years with the help of trained coaches.

“The EduTennis program is a unique offer of using tennis games to teach 16 essential life skills,” said Shivani Singh, EduTennis coach. “We are using children’s interest in the novelty of a sport like tennis to impart valuable lessons in life skills such as critical thinking, communication, and resilience. Children can use such skills to fend off avoidable disablers in their lives, such as child marriage and being forced to drop out of school.”
