hibachi fried rice recipe ( Japanese fried rice)

Hibachi fried rice is Japanese fried rice with garlic flavours given to the rice and is definitely one of the most simple recipes to try out in all the rice recipes. The recipes require egg and rice along with some chopped veggies and a sauce. This is usually made in Hibachi style but since it is homemade, following a cooking technique of that kind can get tough.

I am trying to replicate the same recipe on the blog using the homemade style of cooking and therefore, hoping my viewers enjoying the recipe that tastes as good as the restaurant ones.

About the recipe

The fried rice or “Yakimeshi” made here is Japanese fried rice that involves basically hibachi cooking techniques. Hibachi cooking makes use of a large metal plate on which the food is cooked. Below the large metal plate is the burning fire produced through charcoal or wood.

This type of cooking tastes delicious as fire produced through wood or charcoal gives an amazing flavour to any recipe made. It tastes unique and delicious, unlike the food that tastes through the other cooking techniques that are instant and quick but do not give any taste.

Here, making the recipe in a simple manner on a cooktop in a pan in order to avoid ordering it from a restaurant and making it using similar ingredients.

Using long-grain rice that is cooked or can use leftover rice or any rice available at home can be made use of. The other stuff needed to make are veggies, one can use small chopped cubes of cooked chicken breast, fried eggs and seasoning and make it just by sauteing all these ingredients along with rice and sauce.

Below are the details shared about the ingredients used to make the recipe.

Ingredients

Eggs: Adding eggs or cooked chicken breast pieces is the main idea behind making this fried rice. The eggs are scrambled well on a pan separately or on the metal plate traditionally before adding them to the rice. Eggs can be added generously.

Veggies: Using chopped garlic, ginger as optional, green peas, chopped carrots, chopped onions give great taste to the fried rice.

Rice: The rice is cooked fresh and used and can make use of leftover rice to make the fried rice or making use of any regional rice available is fine to make this recipe.

Soy sauce: Making use of soy sauce by adding it to the fried rice to stir-fry well is the key ingredient to bring the required taste to the recipe

Sesame oil: Traditionally, sesame oil is added to the rice to give the required aroma but if not handy, it can be skipped.

Seasonings: Salt, pepper are the common seasonings to use and this is a less spicy recipe perfectly balanced with the right flavours.

Various fried rice recipes

Not only fried rice recipes made using eggs or chicken are common but other fried rice recipes are highly made in this style such as hibachi shrimp fried rice, hibachi chicken fried rice etc… There are different fried rice recipes on the blog such as egg fried rice, chicken fried rice, veg fried rice etc…

Variations

The fried can be made with a number of variations. It can be made using non-vegetarian ingredients and made only with veggies. Just skipping stir-fried eggs and frying rice with only veggies and sauce is a good option for those who do not prefer vegetarian food.

The added enhancements can be a protein such as chicken breast pieces or lean meat pieces that are cooked well and also adding shrimp or steak too is a wonderful variation that can be done to the rice.

Adding different veggies is a great option and I have added quite a few veggies but adding various other veggies such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage that is shredded gives a wonderful flavor and boosts the health value of the rice recipe.

Adding short-grain rice is traditionally done to the hibachi fried rice but other rice too such as long grain basmati rice or jasmine rice or any white rice is fine with this recipe.

Also, using butter in place of oil is also done while making this Japanese style fried rice.
