About the Event

We are thrilled to announce the 1st Atal Bihari Vajpayee National Moot Court Competition, organized by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Legal Studies, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur. The competition will be held offline from October 4th to 6th, 2024.

About the Organisers

Established in 1966, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (formerly Kanpur University) is a prominent State University in North India, known for its research and academic excellence. In November 2023, it earned the prestigious A++ accreditation from the NAAC and was designated as a Category-I University by the UGC.

The Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Legal Studies (ABVSLS), a prestigious institution of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, is dedicated to advancing legal education and fostering excellence in the legal field. Founded in 2017, ABVSLS is committed to innovative legal thinking and a comprehensive educational approach.

The inaugural national moot court competition highlights the commitment of ABVSLS to enhancing the art of mooting. This event provides a premier platform for students to engage in rigorous legal debate and practice their advocacy skills in a simulated courtroom setting. By bringing together aspiring legal professionals from across the country, the competition aims to elevate their understanding of legal practice, encourage critical analysis, and inspire future leaders in the field of law.

Eligibility

Students enrolled in a five-year integrated or three-year graduate law program at Bar Council of India-recognised institutions may participate. Post-graduate diploma or short-term certificate course students and those from non-recognised institutions are ineligible. Multiple teams from the same institution can apply, but each must register separately and meet all requirements.
