Council for National and International Commercial Arbitration (CNICA) is organizing an Article Writing Competition on theme related to Arbitration in India.

About CNICA

CNICA (Council for National and International Commercial Arbitration) is a non-profit organization providing ADR services since 2004. As the first institutional arbitration center in Tamil Nadu, CNICA specializes in arbitration, mediation, and conciliation. It operates under its own rules, including emergency and expedited procedures.

CNICA offers online dispute resolution through its web portal and has a diverse panel of experienced arbitrators. Serving as the appointing authority for institutional cases, CNICA provides venues for ad hoc proceedings in Chennai.

Through collaborations and MoUs, CNICA actively promotes ADR through events and is recognized by the Ministry of Law and Justice and UNCITRAL. Known for its excellence and cooperation, CNICA is a respected arbitration institution.

About the Opportunity

CNICA is pleased to announce its inaugural article writing competition, a significant step in its mission to promote knowledge and understanding of arbitration law and practice. The competition invites participants from various backgrounds, including scholars, faculty members, research students, students, law professionals, chartered accountants, and company secretaries.

Participants are encouraged to submit well-researched scholarly articles ranging from 3000 to 5000 words. The articles should delve into the intricacies of arbitration, offering insightful analysis and valuable contributions to the field. CNICA aims to foster a culture of academic excellence and intellectual growth through this competition.

  • The Future of Arbitration in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.

Submission Guidelines

  • Articles shall be between 3000 to 5000 words.
  • Articles should be in PDF format.
  • Articles under consideration for publication in any other journal will not be accepted.
  • Only Original works shall be entertained. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. In case of reference to others work or views or opinion the same shall be mentioned.
  • The evaluation by the panel shall be final and binding.
  • The Ownership of all articles shall be with the writer and by submitting it for completion, the author non-conditionally at all times permits CNICA at its discretion to publish the articles in its website or blogs.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Margins 1.5 inches, Header and footer 1.5 inches, Line space shall be 1.5, Font shall be Verdana with 12 size,
  • Citations as per the Blue Book (20th edition).

Eligibility

  • All who are 35 years of age and below as on 01.07.2023 and
  • Who are Students of Law or Chartered Accountant or Company Secretaries or Management or Commerce or
  • Who are Advocates, Law officers, Chartered Accountants, company secretaries, management professionals

How to Submit?

  • Submission shall be made by uploading to www.cnica.org.
  • Articles shall be evaluated by an eminent panellist of
    • Mr. S. Yashodvardhan, Senior Advocate
    • Mrs Gowri Ramesh, Principal, Dr Ambedkar Law College.
    • Mr D. Anand, Advocate, Secretary General, CNICA.

Awards

  • 1st Place Rs.15,000
  • 2nd Place Rs.10,000
  • 3rd Place Rs.5,000
  • Articles shall be published in the website of CNICA
  • All prize winners are eligible to participate in the next seminar to be conducted by CNICA free of charges.
  • All participants shall be provided with digital participation certificate.
