Bombay High Court extends interim bail of Naresh Goyal by 4 weeks

Justice NJ Jamadar allowed the extension plea after taking note of the affidavit submitted by Goyal wherein he had highlighted the suggestion by his doctor to undergo Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication surgery.

Goyal submitted that he prefers to undergo surgery within four weeks subject to his surgical fitness.

The Court allowed the plea and extended the interim bail by another four weeks.

The High Court had on May 6 granted interim bail to him for two months for cancer treatment.

Goyal approached the High Court on July 3 seeking an extension of four weeks.

However, ED expressed willingness to grant extension of only three weeks provided Goyal first undergoes medical assessment in Tata Memorial Hospital.

Accordingly, the Court had asked both parties to file their affidavits stating their positions.

After Goyal stated his position on affidavit, the Court proceeded to allow the plea.
