Call for Articles on Regulatory Governance by Forum of Indian Regulator Centre, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GOI [Prizes worth Rs. 5k per Selected Articles]: Submit by Feb 10

The Forum of Indian Regulator Centre, IICA, is inviting submissions through a call for articles on Regulatory Governance.

About FOIR Centra, IICA

The Forum of Indian Regulators (FOIR) with its aim to promote transparency in the working of regulators and to safeguard the consumer interest signed MoU with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), a think tank under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to establish its centre at the IICA with the object to promote cooperation and coordination among the regulatory members of FOIR.

FOIR centre (IICA) performs a number of functions including organising webinars, workshops, seminars and training programmes etc for FOIR, along with its academic upgradation and skill development of FOIR members, the centre organises capacity-building programs and research projects to achieve the objectives of regulatory compliance.

Indicative Themes

The article(s) should cover the broad theme of Regulatory Governance. An indicative (not exhaustive) list of topics is given below:

  • Regulatory Impact Assessment
  • Regulatory Convergence
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution and its role in regulatory space
  • Transparency, accountability and Independence of regulators.
  • Regulatory architecture & challenges in India.
  • The Game Theory and Incentive regulation.
  • Tools & practices for regulatory improvement in India.
  • Governance frameworks to counter illicit trade.
  • Global – Best Practice Principles for Regulatory Enforcement.
  • Measuring regulatory performance.
  • Risk governance by regulators.
  • Cost-benefit analysis in Regulatory assessment.
  • The challenges of Subsidisation.
  • Emerging trends in Artificial Intelligence Regulation.
  • Cartel Enforcement and Competition Law.
  • Energy generation & transmission planning.
  • Market regulation in the Gas Sector.
  • Competition in the Telecom sector.
  • International Mergers and Acquisitions.
  • Inter & Intra-sectoral juridical conflicts.
  • Use of data and digital tools to improve regulations.
  • Regulations in uncertain times.
  • Any other regulatory theme or sector-specific contemporary issues.

Submission Guidelines

  • Word Limit: Each article should be between 1500 to 2500 words.
  • Text Formatting Guidelines: Articles must be typed in Microsoft Word.
  • Font Style: Arial, Font Size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5
  • References: All relevant sources of the information/date mentioned in the article must be acknowledged and hyperlinked in the submission’s text. The authors may add footnotes in APA style, if necessary.
  • Plagiarism Policy: Submissions should reflect original, unpublished work. The submission may be put through a plagiarism test to check the similarity level and duplicity in the article.
  • Name and Affiliation: A brief description of the Author(s), including full name, affiliation, and email address, should be on the first page, preferably in no more than two sentences.
  • Review Process and Feedback: All the submissions will go through a review.
  • Self-declaration by the participant that the FOIR centre IICA will only have all publishing rights of the selected article.

  • All submissions should be made in both word and PDF format at foir@iica.in with the subject line “Article Submission”.

Awards and Rewards

  • Selected articles (maximum 15) will be awarded Prize money of Rs. 5000 each.
  • The articles will be published on the FOIR website.
  • Note:
    • An individual can submit any number of articles. However, financial awards shall be restricted to max 3 articles per person.
    • In the case of Joint authors, the award money shall be distributed equally.

  • Registration Deadline – January 20, 2023
