Call for Submissions: The Vernacular Initiative of NUJS’ Journal of Indian Law and Society (JILS): Submit by Feb 14

NUJS Kolkata’s JILS Blog invites submissions for the 5th Edition of its Vernacular Initiative, through which it aims to publish a series of Legal Blogs in various vernacular languages used worldwide to celebrate International Mother Language Day.

About the Organiser

The Journal of Indian Law and Society (JILS), a bi-annual peer-reviewed journal [ISSN: 2277-5552] of interdisciplinary studies on law and society in India, is run by students of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences.

About the Opportunity

We are thrilled to announce the 5th Edition of our Vernacular Initiative at the Journal of Indian Law and Society Blog, coinciding with the upcoming International Mother Language Day on February 21, 2024.

In its 24th year, International Mother Language Day celebrates linguistic diversity and multilingualism. To contribute to this global celebration, JILS Blog is bringing back its Vernacular Initiative, aimed at fostering inclusivity and accessibility in legal education and knowledge dissemination.

Our Vernacular Initiative seeks to publish a series of legal blogs in various vernacular languages spoken worldwide. By diversifying the linguistic landscape of legal discourse, we aim to break barriers and make legal knowledge more accessible to all. As a small step in redressing the exclusivity in the legal sphere, the JILS blog team 2020 started a one-of-a-kind initiative in 2020, and we shall be continuing the same this year.

Accordingly, we hereby invite contributions for legal blogs in any vernacular language you are proficient in. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the legal community.

How to Submit?

Please send your submissions to nujsjilsblog@gmail.com. Additionally, you can visit the JILS Blog to read our previous vernacular initiative posts.

Deadline

The deadline for the submission is February 14, 2024.
