Himachal Pradesh High Court grants first interim bail in case under Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita

This was the first such order passed by the High Court for an offence under the Act.

The accused Baldev Singh was booked on July 01 by Police Station Jawalamukhi in Kangra district under BNS Sections 352 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 351(2) (Criminal intimidation) and Sections 3(1)(r) and 3(1)(s) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

On July 4, Singh physically appeared and surrendered before the High Court. He was also represented by a counsel.
