Internship Experience at Agami: Fueled my Interest in the Field of Justice

Name of the Student

Aditi Sadhu

College and Year of Study

RGNUL Patiala, 2nd year

Name and Address of the Organization

Agami; currently it’s a completely remote working organization so it has no address.

Duration of Internship

June 14, 2022, to July 29, 2022; 45 days

How did you Apply?

I emailed my application to Ms Keerthana Medarametla, which consisted of my CV, Cover Letter, and Statement of Purpose. After one week, I received an invite for interview by Ms Tanya Mayal, Weaver at the organization.

First Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

I was inducted into the team over a work call. I was introduced to my senior intern, Ms Swati who explained to me all the procedures to be undertaken and the responsibilities of the different teams.

I was added to the relevant groups and introduced to the data entry system used to keep track of updates and synchronize regular huddles to update them with our progress.

Main Tasks

Working on the Agami Prize 2022, we were asked to conduct the hygiene and the screening checks of different initiatives working in the field of Law and Justice.

We looked for initiatives that brought about innovation in the delivery of justice as well as those in the field of legal literacy. We nominated the selected initiatives for the Prize and helped clarify their doubts.

Work Environment

Our seniors at Agami are really cool people. They are more than just traditional office workers; they are always discussing and launching new ideas that bring innovation into the delivery of justice and provide a space for their members, be it weavers or interns to listen, ask questions and share suggestions.

The meetings with our seniors were always idea-centric and constant focus was laid on how to be more inclusive of people from different backgrounds and regions.

Good things

They are really flexible people but work with deadlines. They are not pushy and constantly following up with you. They expect you to take up responsibility and leadership on your own. And they don’t work Sundays which I think is super cool.

They are always available to answer your questions. Keerthana ma’am and Tanya helped me a lot, further fueling my interest in the field of justice.

Bad things

Nothing as such was bad.

Stipend

INR 2,500/- per month was paid to me during the internship.
