Javed Akhtar files appeal against Magistrate Court summons over RSS-Taliban comment

Challenging the order, Akhtar stated in his revision plea filed through advocate Jay K Bharadwaj, that process had been issued without conducting any enquiry as stipulated under CrPC.

Akhtar claimed that the complainant had failed to show his locus to file such complaint.

“It is a matter of record that the complainant has not placed on record even a single document which can establish his locus standi to file the complaint against Akhtar on behalf of RSS. Importantly, it may not be out of place to note that complainant calls himself a supporter/volunteer/swayamsevak of RSS. The three expressions connote different meanings and from a bare reading of the complaint, it is unclear as to what is his role while filing a complaint against Akhtar,” the plea stated.
