About the organization
iProbono’s mission is to enable people to access their rights in pursuit of a just society. We combine the legal expertise of our carefully curated community of panel and network lawyers, ground-level insights of our grassroots partners, and the ethos of social action litigation to advance justice and equality.
In the last ten years of iProbono’s functioning, we have primarily focused on child rights, housing rights, and strengthening civil society. Our modes of intervention comprise legal representation, advocacy, training and capacity-building efforts. We believe in holistic counsel, representing clients and providing wraparound legal support, capacity building, storytelling, research, and policy advocacy to support social change.
The Role
The Justice Leila Seth Fellowship is a 12-month programme which will build a cohort of exceptional lawyers who understand what it takes to create positive change in society. The fellowship will focus specifically on issues pertaining to child rights, including child sexual abuse and juvenile justice.
Eligibility
- An undergraduate degree in law is required
- Applicants should have a demonstrable commitment to social justice and passion for rights-based issues.
Responsibilities
- The Fellow will work from iProbono’s Delhi office, and will engage with iProbono’s court cases, advocacy efforts, and capacity enhancement work.
- Fellows will produce an independent research project or study over the course of the fellowship, and will have secondments with an iProbono panel lawyer and a partner NGO.

- Stage 1: Submit an application form attached at the end of the post, along with a detailed CV, video cover letter and writing sample expressing interest and suitability by 28 July 2024.
- Stage 2: Attend a first round in-person interview at our Delhi office, or virtual if you’re not in Delhi.
- Stage 3: Attend a virtual interview with members of the Fellowship Selection Committee.
