The initiative is in pursuance of the Supreme Court e-committee’s goal of making the digital infrastructure of the Indian judicial system more accessible to persons with disabilities.
The e-committee’s efforts towards this objective have resulted in High Court websites being made more accessible to persons with disabilities.
Participants in the training session will be given hands-on training covering various assistive technologies such as:
accessible reading of court documents with a screen reader and instant reading device;
accessible documentation and note-making in a digital work environment;
techniques and tools for scanning and creating Digital Accessible formats;
using internet and judgment search with screen readers;
smartphone-based assistive technologies;
orientation of keyboard and input in regional languages;
Artificial intelligence tools and techniques for the visually impaired; and
digital office handling and usage.
R Arulmozhiselvi, Member of the the IT Directorate of the High Court and the Kerala Judicial Academy will be coordinating the programme.
GM Sreedhar and Anushiya A, Computer Faculty, NIEPVD -RC, Chennai, will be providing hands-on training to the participants.
