What are some good things about your college?

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) New Law College, Pune, boasts a well-equipped moot court room and a variety of societies, including Model United Nations and debate. The college also has specialized cells such as ADR, Cyber Cell, NSS and Legal Aid.

While the major standpoint of students is litigation or government jobs, the college is also focusing on the corporate side of law, providing a well-rounded legal education that caters to diverse career aspirations.

Are there any bad things about your college?

The infrastructure and a few of the professors are not up to the mark. There are not many corporate opportunities available, but the administration is actively working to improve this aspect.

How has your experience in your college been till now?

It has been a good experience. I served as the President of the Model United Nations society and a core member of the ADR cell. The professors are very supportive and helpful. I was fortunate enough to be a part of many conferences and moot court competitions.

The college organizes the PN Bhagwati International Moot Court Competition, where I had the chance to meet and interact with various judges from the High Court and Supreme Court of India, Sri Lanka and Maldives.

How’s the faculty at your college?

Most of the faculty at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) New Law College, Pune, are good, demonstrating deep expertise in their respective fields.

They are dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning environment, providing insightful guidance and promoting critical thinking.

Their commitment to student success is evident through engaging lectures and supportive mentoring. However, there are a few exceptions where improvements could be made.

How’s the infrastructure of the college?

The infrastructure at my law school meets the standard requirements, featuring state-of-the-art classrooms, a well-stocked library, and technologically advanced moot courtrooms.

While the current facilities are adequate, the college is actively working on improvements to enhance the overall infrastructure and provide an even better environment for legal studies.

How’s your hostel experience?

Due to my first year being online because of COVID-19, I don’t have much experience related to hostel life. However, the hostel facilities are designed to foster a sense of community and promote a healthy work-life balance, offering a conducive environment for both academic and social pursuits.

How are your peers?

The peers at my law school are diverse and intellectually engaging. Collaborative discussions and shared enthusiasm for legal studies create a stimulating academic environment. Interactions with motivated and supportive classmates enhance the overall learning experience, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual growth.

How are the placements in your college?

Currently, the students and the college are mostly judiciary and government exam-driven. However, the college is expanding its horizons to include corporate law opportunities as well.

The institution’s strong network and academic rigor contribute to high placement rates, with diverse opportunities available across law firms, corporate sectors, and public interest organizations.

How are the co-curricular activities in your college?

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) New Law College, Pune, offers a vibrant array of co-curricular activities, fostering holistic development.

Moot courts, debates, cultural events, and legal aid initiatives provide students with diverse opportunities to enhance their skills, engage in teamwork, and contribute to the community, enriching their overall educational experience.

What are some of the things you’d advise to a 1st-year student?

For incoming students at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) New Law College, Pune, prioritize time management and engage actively in diverse extracurricular activities. Building a strong network is crucial, and embracing challenges will provide valuable learning opportunities.
