The FIR was registered based on a complaint by the worker’s father after CCTV footage showing the lawyer dragging the worker, Anita, out of the elevator surfaced on the internet a few days ago.
Koul was arrested and a case was registered against her under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) , 344 (wrongful confinement) and 504 (provoking or insulting someone) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Saad Miya Khan, through Noida Police Commissionerate’s twitter handle, confirmed on Tuesday that an FIR has been registered against Koul and investigation was ongoing.
In response to the tweet, a twitter handle, seemingly Koul’s, shared two videos, allegedly of Anita, claiming that she has CCTV footage and independent witnesses to prove that Anita committed theft and mixed sleeping pills in her meal.
“I have all CCTV footage and independent witness that she has committed theft and mixed sleeping pills in my meal,” the tweet said.
In one, the woman can be heard stating that she was not being held captive. In the other, she is seen saying that a relative of hers had behaved inappropriately with Koul pursuant to which she and her family had apologised to Koul at a police station.
