Lawyers can’t use prefixes like Lt. Colonel, MP in court documents: Madras High Court

A bench of Justices SM Subramaniam and C Kumarappan said all lawyers are equal before court irrespective of the status they hold outside or their other professional qualifications.

Some advocates might be “former ministers or continuing to be Members of Parliament, MLA. They might be Padma recipents. But they are all equal before a court of law,” the bench said.
