A resolution passed by MHCAA on Friday urged all members to adhere to the decision and refrain from participating in any court-related activities on July 8. It emphasized that their support and cooperation are essential for the success of this initiative.
“This collective action underscores our strong opposition to the changes that we believe undermine the principles of justice and fairness in our legal system. It is crucial that we stand united in this protest to make our voices heard and effect meaningful change,” the resolution said.
The three new criminal laws, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which have replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the Indian Evidence Act respectively, came into force on July 1.
