The plea referred to Madhya Pradesh’s Mukhyamantri Adhivakta Kalyan Scheme and Delhi’s Chief Minister Advocates Welfare Scheme, which provide medical and other benefits to advocates registered with their respective State Bar Councils.
The plea has requested the Court to direct the Central Government, the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh and the Bar Council of India (BCI) to develop a policy providing a mediclaim benefits, health card or health security for practicing advocates registered with the State bar council.
