A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Dipankar Datta said that in many cases, State’s lawyers do not appear and the government goes unrepresented.
The remarks were madeaAfter a lawyer representing the State sought a week’s time to address a matter.
The Court expressed its disappointment and cautioned that it would summon the Chief Secretary of the State.
After the lawyer apologized, the Court instructed the registry to communicate the lapse to the Advocate General of Rajasthan.
