Supreme Court rejects PIL to regulate cab aggregators; says some activists push business interests

The top court noted that sometimes, pleas filed by social activists are intended to favour business persons.

A Bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra observed,

“We shall not interfere at the behest of social activists. Sometimes, the danger is these social activists are pushed by business enterprises. You can pursue your representation with the government. We cannot interfere in the case under Article 32 at the behest of social activists.”
