Construction of air-conditioning units outside at least three of the Supreme Court’s court halls is currently in progress and will likely be completed within a week or so, CJI Chandrachud remarked in open court today.
He added that care is being taken to ensure that no damage is done to the historic building in the process.
“The corridor outside courts 1, 2 and 3 will be completely air-conditioned now. We have been in touch with expert agencies…We are in touch with IIT as well, since this is a historical building and the AC should not damage anything. We thought it will be over with the vacations, but it may take a week more,” the CJI said.
