The PILs dismissed by Supreme Court on reopening day

PIL against poor state of roads

This matter was heard by a Bench of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Ahsanuddin Amanullah.

Justice Amanullah at the outset asked whether there was any enforceable law in this regard.

“What are you actually wanting to put forth? Where is the law for this? What is the point? Kindly show. We do not want to waste time to do your homework. You have raised a wide question without showing any provision of law.”

The counsel then lamented that contractors are digging layer after layer on public roads, and residents have been suffering.

“You withdraw with liberty to approach the jurisdictional High Court after doing more research,” Justice Dhulia then instructed.

The plea was, therefore, withdrawn.
