“Very easy to criticise Registry”: CJI DY Chandrachud on matter being listed before different bench

The CJI made the observation when Advocate Prashant Bhushan mentioned a contempt plea in the Tamil Nadu cash-for-jobs scam case.

Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave explained that the matter was to be listed before Justice Krishna Murari, but was assigned to another bench.

“Registry needs to follow rules,” he added.

At this point, CJI Chandrachud replied,

“It is very easy to criticize the Registry, but I have to take a look at the papers and then take a call.”
