Singh is a US citizen and an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holder. He has made documentaries on Shaheen Bagh protests, the farmers’ protests as well as on the Covid-19 pandemic in India.
His documentary on the devastation caused by the Delta wave of Coronavirus had earned him an Emmy nomination as well.
Singh was deported to New York in August this year. In a Facebook post, his mother had claimed that he had come here to meet his family residing in Punjab and that the reason for his deportation was his journalism.
