Rajasthan: CM Gehlot, other leaders greet people on Eid, Akshay Tritiya and Parshuram Jayanti

Jaipur, Apr 22 PTI) Akshay Tritiya, Eid and Lord Parshuram Jayanti were celebrated across Rajasthan on Saturday as thousands of people dressed in traditional attires offered prayers at temples, mosques and greeted each other on these occasions.

A large number of devotees also offered prayers at the Ajmer Dargah.

Leaders from the ruling and opposition parties, including Rajasthan Assembly Speaker C P Joshi, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot greeted people.

Joshi sent his congratulatory message on the three occasions and prayed for brotherhood, happiness and prosperity.

Chief Minister Gehlot said, “Salutations to Lord Parshuram, the bearer of truth, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, on his birth anniversary. May this auspicious occasion bring happiness, prosperity and success in everyone’s life.” He also extended his wishes on the Eid festival. He said, “Wishing you all a very happy Eid, the festival of peace, peace and brotherhood. May this festival bring progress and prosperity in the lives of the people of the state.” Former deputy CM Pilot congratulated people of the state on the three festivals coinciding with each other this year. He wished for peace, progress and happiness for people of the country and the state.

Senior BJP leader and former chief minister Raje also greeted people in a tweet.

“Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr! May the message of peace, harmony and compassion prevail in our society,” Raje tweeted.

She also congratulated people on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

She said,”May this festival bring new light of happiness and prosperity in the lives of all of you and I wish peace and brotherhood to prevail all over the country.” PTI AG CK
