Out of 10,000+ angel investors in India, only 1% percent are women. This is not due to lack of intent but due to lack of awareness. Staying true to its ethos of driving diversity in the investment ecosystem, the Encubay Angel Network will create a network that enables more women to invest and more funds to be channeled towards women-led businesses. It will be achieved by providing members access to regular awareness sessions, virtual and in-person networking, mentorship, investment resources, and opportunities to invest through deal flow.

Commenting on this, Eashita Maheshwary, Co-founder, Encubay and Partner at Encubay Angel Network, says,
“ At Encubay we have been driving diversity in the start-up ecosystem and have successfully even during the pandemic assisted a lot of our teams with business growth, entering new markets and raising funds. The Encubay Angel Network was founded with the drive that all 5 of us have to make an impact and bring more women into the investment ecosystem. Our strength is our diverse backgrounds and how we collectively understand the start-up and investment ecosystem to a large extent..”

Commenting on this, Deeksha Ahuja, Founder, Encubay, says, “The Encubay Angel Network is the coming together of strong women from across backgrounds in entrepreneurship, finance, venture capital and legal to work towards bringing more women to start their Angel investing journeys to invest in diverse founders. We are the first female led Angel network in the country aimed at creating more angels in the country and creating a strong support ecosystem for women founders and funders.”

Jayaroopa Jeyabarathi, Co-founder – Women In Investing Network, “Angel investing as an asset class is essentially building a lot of wealth and women missing out on that is not ideal. Women also bring a different and diverse perspective which allows them to invest in more diverse founders which will be a value addition to the entire ecosystem and that’s what excites me about building this.”
